Hitch and Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for 2019 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen
Question:
I need a trailer hitch and wiring harness for my 2019 VW Golf SportWagen. What would you recommend? I'll use it mainly for my Kuat Sherpa 2-bike rack but I'll need to tow a small utility trailer to run stuff to the dump and maybe for getting my lawn tractor in for service. Thanks!

If your Kuat Sherpa bike rack has a 1-1/4 inch shank, I'd recommend the Draw-Tite # 24949 Class I hitch. Or if it has a 2 inch shank, you'll want to use # 306-X7315 which has a 2 inch receiver.
For a trailer wiring harness, use # C59236. You'll also need a ball mount, hitch pin and a trailer ball. For the 2 inch hitch, I'd recommend the # 989900 etrailer.com ball mount kit, which includes 2 ball mounts, a 2 inch ball, a 1-7/8 inch ball and 2 hitch pins. If you go with the # 24929 hitch with the 1-1/4 inch receiver, I'd recommend the # 3590 ball mount. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 or # 19258 for a 2 iinch ball.
We have an installation video showing the # 24949 being installed, I've linked that for you.
