Question:
I have a 1996 Holiday Rambler 40 diesel pusher motorhome. It has air brakes. What brake controller do you recommend for this vehicle. It is on a Spartan frame.

Even with air brakes on your 1996 Holiday Rambler, you can still use an electric trailer brake controller. My top choice is the P2, # 90885, that you have referenced because it is easy to set up and use. The brake controller uses a connection to a dedicated brake light wire, usually found on the brake switch, to tell the brake controller when you are stepping on the brakes.
Depending on how your RV is equipped, you will need to do some hardwiring and will most likely need other parts. If the vehicle already has a trailer connector with a brake output circuit, you can use a brake controller wiring kit, # 5506.
If you need to add a 7-Way connector, use installation kit # ETBC7. I have included some links that will help with the installation.
