Optimal Cross Bar Spread For Adjustable Roof Rack Bars When Using Thule Roof Basket

Hi, i just wanted to know the ideal cross bar spread for the thule canyon xt, my cross bars can be adjusted so i wanted to adjust them to the ideal spread for better center of gravity, i have a mini cooper if that helps or makes a difference?

I contacted Thule and the optimal cross bar set up on average is the first bar 10" back from the windshield because that is where the roof supports start. The most optimal cross bar spread is 24" from the center of one cross bar to the other when using a roof basket like part # TH859XT. That is the average and most optimal cross bar spread.
