Recommended Wire Size and Wiring Kit to Power Trailer Mounted Winch From Vehicle Battery
Question:
I am running wire from battery to rear of vehicle to power a winch mounted on my trailer. Vehicle wheelbase is 130inch and winch is a 5k lb. What wire size? Thank you

You'll want to use 2 gauge wire, like our Bulldog Winch Wiring Kit, part # BDW20206. The kit includes a quick connector for the rear of the vehicle, as well as a quick connect that would install on your winch wiring. The wire included with the kit is 20 feet long, so it should work well for you.
