When choosing your weight distribution system the tongue weight is the key factor. We want the tongue weight plus anything you're going to have loaded in the Explorer behind the rear axle. Your camper has a Dry Tongue weight of 420 lbs. Once you have your 2020 JayFlight 212QB loaded with all of the goodies you need to have fun camping plus water and propane that is going to be closer to the 550 lb. mark. Then we add in the stuff in the back of the Explorer and that's going to get us around 650 lbs. The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating for your camper is 5500 lbs. and that will be right in line with what we want.

Of the two systems mentioned There is one that most closely matches your weight requirements and that is the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - Trunnion - 10K GTW, 1K TW part # RP66559 I know this is a little heavier than what you had expected but it will work out really well for you! Like I said tongue weight is the biggest key and this system has a range of 500-1000 lbs. leaving your tongue weight of approx 650 right in the sweet spot where this system can really do a great job for you. I really like the Equal-I-Zer systems too but this one matches perfectly to what you need and that's why I recommended it.

The only other thing you will need is a ball to add to the system for a 2" ball use part # A-90 and for a 2 5/16" ball use part # C40030 and you will be set.

I've linked the system below for you to check out.
