Adding a Switch to a T-Connector Powered Converter Box
Question:
I have a question about the T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector Item # C56349. I want to put a switch in series with the battery fuse so I can disconnect power when not pulling a trailer. Do you know if the truck tail lights will still work if the power is disconnect from the module in the harness? Also, could I connect the power wire to an Ignition circuit instead of the battery?

Yes you can add a switch like Pollak Light-Duty Toggle Switch - On-Off - 12 Volt - 10 Amp - 6" Wire Leads part # PK34513 to the power wire on your wiring harness if you decide you want to shut it down without worries about your vehicle's factory lights not working. I like this switch because it has the Amp rating above what the harness has and unlike a lot of other switches out there it doesn't have the exposed contacts on the back that could lead to shorts.
As far as using an ignition source to power the module that is a no go. The wiring harnesses must be connected directly to the battery or the battery input on the power distribution center of the vehicle.
I've included a link to that switch below for you to check out.
