Flat Towing A 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited And Aftermarket Bumper Options
Question:
Hi I have a 20914 Wrangler JKU that I want to set up to flat tow behind my motorhome. Am also considering a winch capable aftermarket bumper and would like to use the bumper to pull the Jeep. These RM-035-1 adapters look very useful but wondering what if any of the bumpers that you sell are safe or rated to be used in this way. Will likely be going with the Nighthawk Tow bar and Stay-IN-Play DUO braking. Thanks,

While the bumpers available here are great aesthetic options for your 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, they are not rated for flat towing though you have many compatible base plate options instead. You can still use the # RM-035-1 or # RM-035 adapters with a tow rated bumper if you choose that route.
The Nighthawk and Stay-In-Play DUO are both great solutions that are confirmed fits for your 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Be sure to note that to be compatible with the 6-pin connector on the Nighthawk, the Hopkins 4-way connector can be cut off and replaced with 6-Way socket included in the Nighthawk package.
Below is a complete package including those 2 components for you to review as you evaluate your options.
Base plates # RM-521448-5
Nighthawk Towbar # RM-676
Wiring # HM56200
Braking System # SM99251
Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle w/ Supplemental Braking System # RM-766
High Low Adapter
Cover # RM-055-3
Tow Defender # RM-4750
