Troubleshooting Trailer Disconnected Message After Installing Tekonsha Prodigy P3 on 2019 Ram 3500
Question:
I have a trailer disconnext light that stays on all the time in the dash after the brake controller and wiring adapter were installed on my 2019 ram 3500. Is there a way to turn the warning light off?

It sounds like your 2019 Ram 3500 has an Integrated Trailer Brake Module (ITBM). It's perfectly safe and acceptable to use an aftermarket brake controller, but you will need to see your authorized Ram dealer so they can reconfigure your ITBM to allow you to use your Prodigy P3 # 90195 without interfering with it.
According to page 421 of the online copy of your owner's manual, removal of the ITBM will cause errors and it may cause damage to the electrical system and electronic modules of the vehicle. To disconnect the ITBM, you will need to contact Business Center to remove the sales code (XHC). The TIPM will need to be reconfigured. Once the sales code has been disabled you can disconnect the ITBM electrical connector, under the dash, without getting the warning lamp.
On the off chance that your truck is not equipped with an ITMB, then the issue is likely on the brake output (blue wire) that runs from the controller to the pin on the 5 o'clock position on your Ram's 7-Way and onto the trailer side connector and brake magnets. Since your truck is fairly new, I would start by inspecting/testing the wiring on the trailer side.
