Will The Roadmaster Stowaway Storage System Work With The Roadmaster Rock Guardian

Question:

Im curious if this product will work with the roadmaster protective screen as well. Im looking at towing a Jeep Wrangler with 40inch tires on it. I want all the protection I can get.

The Roadmaster Stowaway Storage System # RM-4000-40 will work with the Rock Guardian # RM-4000 only and that is not compatible with D ring bumper mounts. The Tow defender # RM-4750 however will fold and up store on your motor home and that solution is compatible with D-Ring Bumper mounts.

I am trying to decide which Roadmaster Stowaway Storage unit to purchase. There appear to be two different styles. The RM 4000-40 which has an open bottom that allows it to be place on the receiver without having to remove the tow bar and the RM 4000-10 needs to be put on before installing the tow bar. The first one is easier but only has one set screw to hold it in place, where the latter has two set screws, that looks to be at the bottom corners of the square tube. The second one would seem to me to be a better fit, since some reviews indicate the RM4000-40 unit doesn't hold as well and often moves around and for some they indicate it can hit the back of the coach. What is your take?

The older Roadmaster 4000-10 model is actually no longer in production. I do like the Stowaway # RM-4000-40 better anyway though because of that convenient on/off design. It's really something that you'll immediately appreciate as it's time to actually use (or not use) the unit.
