Would Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount for 2-1/2" Hitches # AMSCV-2 Be Effective Towing 7k to 10k Trailer
Question:
Hello, I have a 2019 Chevrolet 2500 HD Crew Cab with 2 1/2 hitch. I am thinking abut the AMSCV-2 since it is for a 2 1/2 hitch. Most of the time I tow 7,000 - 10,000 pounds - this includes trailer weight. The most I will tow is 14,000 pounds. Will the AMSCV-2 be effective since it is rated for 18,000 pounds? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Yes, the Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount for 2-1/2" Hitches # AMSCV-2 that you referenced would work great for your truck and the amount of weight you plan to tow. The forward to back cushioning of the ball mount does not require a minimum amount of trailer weight to be effective. The weights you listed would work just fine with it.
