Option to Increase Turning Radius of Trailer Towing Setup Without Losing Weight Capacity
Question:
Thanks so much for responding but I don’t think that will work. I have the sway control hitch with chains. The ball is attached to it and goes into the hitch receiver.

Hitch extenders can add enough length to give a better turning radius but the problem is that they cut the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent. So your best option would be to go with a longer ball mount to gain the extra clearance without sacrificing capacity.
For example we have the Brophy Ball Mount part # BM20 which is 13-1/4 inches in length and has the same 6,000 lb capacity as your vehicle. I attached a review video for this for more info as well.
