What makes the stept new go in when I open door and go out when door close

RV steps that use the module you referenced # LC301702 use a set of magnets that when close together either open or close the circuit. This is what triggers the steps when the door opens and closes.

What's interesting is some magnets work opposite of each other so if you had a door opening and closing in reverse you might just need to go to the other set of magnets.
