Since you already have some trailer wiring on the 1979 Ford F-350, all you will need is a brake controller and a 4 and 7 way installation kit # ETBC7 to add a 7-Way and wiring for the brake controller.
A lot of the wiring on your 6-pole can be reused. You will need to cut the 4-Way off of the ETBC7 and splice the wires from it to the wires going into the 6-pole by function. On the 4-Way, brown is running lights, yellow is left turn/brake lights, and green is right turn and brake lights.
On your 6-pole you will also have a ground wire. The ETBC7 adapter will have its own ground wire that will attach to the vehicle frame. The black wire on the ETBC7 is for 12 volt power and the blue wire will connect to the brake controller.
Depending on how your 6-Pole is set up, you may or may not need to use the extra wiring and circuit breakers included in the ETBC7. If the 6-Pole is fully functional and the wiring is ran under the dash for the brake controller already, you could just use # 37185. In either case I have included some links that explain the ETBC7 and brake controller installations.
For a brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha P2, # 90885. It is one of our most popular controllers because it is easy to set up and easy to use. I have included some links to the installation details for it as well.
