Does The Brake Buddy Stealth Supplemental Braking System Turn Off When Not Flat Towing
Question:
Does the brake controller turn off after a while when not in use? The wiring diagram provided by Hopkins as part of their Stealth braking system, shows the controller being wired to the positive terminal of the batterythrough a fuse.

Expert Reply:
You are correct the Brake Buddy Stealth Supplemental Braking System part # HM39530 needs to be wired to the positive terminal of the vehicle's battery. If you are not using the brake controller and the vehicle is not being towed the dust cover must be inserted into the vehicle's harness. Once it's been inserted for 3 minutes the controller will turn off and will no longer engage the vehicle's brakes.
