Recommended 7-Way and Brake Controller on 2019 Chevy Express Van

Question:

Hello, I have a 2019 Chevy express 2500 reg wheelbase 6.0l. It does not have a towing package. I just ordered a class v hitch from you and I was wondering what wire harnesses I’d need for a functional 7 pin trailer plug?

For the 2019 Chevy Express Van 2500 without a towing package, you will need the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118392 which will give you a 4-pole to start with if you don't already have one.

Then you will need a 4-pole upgrade kit part # ETBC7 which comes with all of the components needed to wire in a functional 7-way on your van. I have attached the video and wiring diagram for your reference.

It sounds like you may be towing a trailer with electric brakes, if you need a brake controller I recommend Tekonsha P3 part # 90195 which is one of our most popular brake controller options. It has storable settings that allow you to tow more than 1 trailer without needing to reset the boost, braking power or aggressiveness each time. It also has a nice easy to read LCD display.

The parts mentioned above are what you need on your Express Van 3500 as well; the Tekonsha # 118392 to give you a 4-Way, the Wiring Kit # ETBC7 to convert it to a fully functional 7-Way, and the extra wiring # ETBCXW needed for this longer vehicle. The only thing you're missing is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 itself.
