Difference Between Curt A25 and Q25 Fifth wheel Hitches

Question:

I have a 2019 Ram 3500 8 ft bed with the puck system and want to get a Curt 5th wheel, can you tell me the difference between the a25 and the q25? They look almost the same.

That's a really good question, they do look very similar. I recommend the A25 # C16046 for your 2019 Ram 3500 with an 8ft bed and factory puck system. The A25 has a 2 piece jaw that overlaps slightly, where the Q25 butts up against the other. This provides a more solid connection to the king pin resulting in a secure quiet ride.

The head is also slightly different on the A25 than the Q25. Curt strengthened the A25 heads so that they can be used with rotating pin boxes, unlike the Q25. The Q25 uses a spherical axial bearing for the hitch head to pivot 360 degrees, but this also is the reason it can not be used with rotating pin boxes.

Both hitches have legs that slide into the puck system on your Ram, and are rated at 24000 lbs GTW and 6250 lbs TW.

If you need 5th wheel wiring for you Ram the correct kit is 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Plug # 50-97-410.

I linked a few videos for you to check out as reference.
