The 4 pole trailer connector provided by the Curt # C55384 T-Connector has provisions for basic lighting functions, right turn/brake lamp circuit is the green wire, left turn/brake lamp circuit is the yellow wire, running lights is the brown wire and the white wire is for the ground connection.

If your trailer has reverse lamps, and you'd like them to function, you'll need to use a 7-way trailer connector such as # PK11893 and connect the center pin to the vehicle's reverse lamp circuit. On many vehicles, installing a 7-way trailer connector is a plug and play endeavor, but it'll depend on the vehicle.

If you'd care to reply with the vehicle (year, make and model) and send some specifics about what you're trying to do, I'd be happy to recommend specific parts.

In the meantime, I've linked you to our help article about trailer wiring which contains all sorts of helpful information, including trailer connector wiring diagrams.
