The Reese Low-Profile 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, # RP30054, is the only fifth-wheel trailer hitch we carry at this time that is capable of towing up to 30,000 lbs total trailer weight. This hitch is compliant with V5 and SAE regulations when used within the limits set by the hitch manufacturer. This hitch has not been tested to meet DOT commercial regulations, and if used in a commercial application there may be warranty limits set by the manufacturer. You should also consult the owners manual for your 2008 Dodge Ram 4500 pickup to be sure you do not exceed the GCVWR (gross combined vehicle weight rating) of your vehicle, to be within DOT regulations.

The Low-Profile 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, # RP30054, is designed as a custom application that requires mounting directly to the truck frame, welding and moderate fabrication may be required for installation. I attached a link to the installation instructions for this hitch for you to review.

The Bulldog Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Coupler Adapter, # BD0289590300, that you referenced would work with the the Reese hitch. Welding would be required to attach the 4-1/2 inch square outer tube to the trailer frame, if your trailer does not have an outer tube with set bolts that will accept a 4 inch square inner tube.
