Curt Fifth Wheel Rail Placement on 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500

Question:

I have a 2020 chevy 2500hd custom with short bed. I see in the installation instructions for the curt rails and brackets the measurement from the end of the bed to the closest rail is 28.94 inches. Isnt that close enough to 29 that it wouldnt make a difference? And if there is a difference, what would 28.94 be as a normal fraction measurement? Thanks for your help! When you install the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Chevy/GMC Truck - Carbide Finish part # C16429-204 in the 2020 Chevy 2500Hd short bed, the measurement from the tailgate to the rails is 28.94" like you mention because you want the fifth wheel to be centered over the axle. You want to follow the measurements of the instructions exactly. The closest fraction measurement on a tape measure is 28-15/16"
