What Do Sections of B and W Companion Hitch Weigh

Question:

Im torn between this and a Reese Goose Box. I want to be able to use my bed while at the campground to cart around our mountain bikes to trailheads. How much does this weigh? Can it be broken down into manageable parts? I know the head is around 75 pounds, but I do not know what this base is going to weigh.

The total weight of the B&W Companion # BWRVK3500 that you referenced is right at 200 lbs and the head weighs right at 70 lbs. So the base then is about 130 lbs. It has handles though to help remove it but it's still a bit heavy. Especially for one person.

A Reese Goose Box like the # RP85FR would be a really great solution if possible but it would rely on a few things to work out well. The Goose Boxes only fit a select number of pin box replacements and since you have a short bed truck your trailer would need to have a tapered nose to allow the turning clearance needed between trailer nose and truck bed. If this route can be made to work though it would be your best option.

Aside from that the Companion slider part # BWRVK3400 might be what you'd need since you have a short bed with the Turnoverball gooseneck # BWGNRK1320 would be a solid choice.
