Replacement for 16K Valley Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch on 2013 Chevy Silverado
Question:
I was wondering if a Valley 70540, will fit Reese sliders? I thought that the Reese, Draw Tite and Valley were all very similar, when I bought my hitch. Im looking to convert my hitch, or buy a new slider. Thank you.

Though hitches are similar in a number of different ways, you will be unable to mix and match parts from different manufacturers, and Valley has gone out of business so there aren't replacement parts we offer. The best option if you need a sliding hitch on your 2013 Chevy Silverado is a new sliding hitch, and there are solid options that won't break the bank.
To replace your hitch, the most budget-friendly sliding hitch is the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Square Tube Slider # RP30051. This is a solid hitch that will do the job of pulling a fifth wheel trailer and if you are simply looking for the hitch that is going to save you the most money this is the one.
That said, it does have a slide the best value is easily the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with R16 Slider # C16521 because of its highly superior interlocking dual-jaw system compared to the slide-bar single jaw system of the Reese hitch (see photo, with the Curt hitch on the left and Reese on the right). This means you will have less rattle and movement between the king pin and the jaw. That is going to give you a much, much more comfortable and quieter ride.
Assuming you have a 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500 or 3500, if you need base rails in your truck, the best value is the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Chevy/GMC # C16411-204 because they offer a custom fit, no-drill installation, which will save oodles of time compared to kits that require drilling. If you need a 5th wheel wiring harness in your truck and have the factory 7-way, I recommend the 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug # 50-97-410.
