Replacement Trailer Tires for Boat Trailer with Tire Size P215/75R15

Question:

Was looking for a ST225/70/R15 trailer tire. The ST225/75/R15 is a little wider tire than what I want, sticks out pass the fenders more than what I want. Thanks

You don't have much fender clearance currently so I would go with the smaller tire size of 205/75-15 as it will work well and also not cause fender issues. The big difference between this size and the 225/75 size is the outer diameter. The 205 is 27.1 inches overall and the 225 is 28.4 inches.

In the tire size you need the # TR20515D would be your best option. This is a Taskmaster Provider trailer tire with speed rating of 81 mph that would work great on your boat trailer. Your current tire (based on the P in the size) is for passenger vehicles and should not be used on trailers so it's very smart you are replacing them!

The two tire sizes you mentioned actually have the same width of 225 mm. The 70 and 75 in the two sizes is actually related to the diameter and not the width. So the slightly narrower tire size you are looking for then is 205/75-15 like the # TR20515D. This will be 3/4 of an inch narrower than the size you have currently.
