Recommendation for Replacing Trailer Leaf Springs on Triple Axle Trailer
Question:
I broke a leaf spring on my trailer and would like to replace all six of them, the ones on there now are 26 eye to eye with 3 hight 4 leaf. The axels i think are 6,000 lbs ea. would the PR626 work or is it too light? If so do have another one that would work? Thanks

If you have 6000 pound axles then the Double-Eye Spring, # e27SR will not be heavy enough for your trailer. It is only rated for a 4,500 lbs axle.
When replacing springs on an axle you divide the axle carrying capacity in half to get the spring capacity. This means that you will need at least 3000 pound springs. When you measure your old springs, they will measure longer than the new spring due to wear.
Since you have a broken spring you may want to go with the Double-Eye Spring, # e64SR. This is a 6 leaf spring which is rated at 3,500 lbs. It measures 24-7/8 inches eye-to-eye and is 3-1/8 inches tall.
It is recommended to replace all leaf springs at the same time so as not to create instability in the trailer when towing. The # e64SR leaf spring will handle more weight but you still can not exceed the weight capacity of the axle.
I am including a link to a FAQ page on leaf springs that will list the dimensions of the springs we carry.
