You're on the right track; the Blue Ox # BX1307 are a fit on your 2010 Mini Cooper S and since you've got the manual transmission model, my research says that this model can be flat towed; just as a reference- the automatic transmission models cannot be flat towed.

When it comes to a tow bar, the Blue Ox base plates are compatible with a number of Blue Ox tow bars without the need for adapters. These plates are compatible with the Adventurer, Aladdin, Allure, Alpha, Avail, Aventa, and Trion tow bars, so if you've got one of those models you're going to be well on your way to a complete flat towing setup. If you don't have one of these model tow bars, the Blue Ox Alpha 2 # BX7380 is a great solution. Since it's a non-binding design it will allow you to hook up and unhook on uneven terrain or when not perfectly lined up behind your motorhome. The Blue Ox Avail also comes with integrated safety cables, so you won't have to worry about getting new ones or losing them.

Since this vehicle isn't set up for flat towing already, you'll also need wiring for your lights. I recommend using the Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit with Bulbs # RM-155 which allows you to use your toad's signal lights without tapping into its wiring. This is a self-contained wiring kit that bypasses your Mini Cooper's electrical system, eliminating any concerns over violating the manufacturer's warranty.

If you also need a supplemental braking system, which is required by law in most states and provinces, I recommend using the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. This is a portable system that provides proportional braking on your toad for a smooth braking experience. Since it's portable, there will be nothing permanently installed on your toad, so it can be used on another vehicle if you decide to upgrade in the future. This system requires an additional 12v Outlet Kit # RM-9332 for powering the system.

You also may need a High-Low Adapter like the Roadmaster # RM-076, but you'll need to do some measuring in order to determine which one. I've attached a link to a helpful article that we've put together that explains exactly how to measure correctly for your tow setup. There are also some product review videos on the products that I've mentioned above that you might want to have a look at as well.
