The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR can be mounted just about anywhere that the wires can reach, and there is enough room behind the button. The button or knob requires at least 1 3/4" of depth and 3/4" width of space to mount up.
I've installed this brake controller in several different kinds of vehicles and for your 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 the Red Arc is an excellent choice. I like the remote design, it makes it to where you don't have to put a big box on your dash like the old traditional brake controllers.
We haven't had a 2020 Silverado in the shop for a brake controller yet, so I can't give you an exact location to mount it, but in my past experiences I found it best to mount it close to the steering wheel where you can easily reach the manual override. There's a ledge by the remote start button on the right hand side of the steering wheel that would be a nice spot if behind the panel has the clearance. Another option may be to mount it to the center console.
To make the installation easier you can use Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # 3064-P. This plugs into the port under the dash so you can hook up the Red Arc. The factory port is on the driver's side, under the dash and typically is taped to other wires. It may be difficult to find, but if your truck has the factory tow package it's probably hidden behind some other wires.
I linked the parts above, and a few videos. I also attached a photo of a different vehicle to give you an idea of what it looks like mounted to the center console.
