Trouble Getting Hitch Pin Holes To Line Up Using Kuat Shank Adapter # D101
Question:
I installed the Draw-tite 76271 on my 2020 Subaru Forester following your video made it easy. I went to install my Kuat NV 2.0 with the Kuat 1-1/4inch to 2inch adapter, the pin holes dont line up and the locking hitch pin will not go through. Is the hitch compatible with the rack plus adapter? Thanks

I reached out to my contact at Kuat, and sent him the picture you attached, and he said that what you are seeing is actually pretty common when using the Shank Adapter # D101. He said the hitch pin holes will indeed be a bit off center when using the adapter to install your NV 2.0 Bike Rack # BA12B, but it should still allow the hitch pin to travel through.
It is important though that you continue to use the smaller 3/8" hitch pin originally included with the bike rack instead of a hitch pin made for your larger 2" receiver. A 5/8" diameter hitch pin, which is what would otherwise be used with a 2" trailer hitch, will not fit. You might also need to come in at an angle to fit through the holes (see attached image).
If you are still unable to properly attach the bike rack please let me know and I will be happy to look into this even further.
