Weight and Dimensions of Swagman S64663 Platform-Style Bike Rack

Question:

Dear Sir or Madam, can you answer the following questions for me? The Swagman site states that the rack weighs 36.1 lbs. Do you know if that includes the weight of the 2inch bumper mount adapter? Can you confirm the 35 lbs per bike capacity? I saw some references in the QandA stating 40 lbs per bike. Our travel trailer documentation states that the weight on the rear bumper should not exceed 130 lbs of uniform load and the load distribution should not exceed 18inch beyond the bumper. Will this rack fit within these restrictions? My heaviest of two mountain bikes is about 32 lbs a 29er. What is the overall width of the rack after installation? Our travel trailer a 2019 Lance model 1995 has a ladder on the vehicle passenger side of the rear of the trailer. Is there enough room for the installation of this rack? If you cant confirm, can you provide information so that I can take measurements? Do you see any reason why Lance would not recommend using this rack? There is a 1 1/4inch receiver centered under the bumper. Im looking at this rack because I cant find any travel trailer certified platform racks for a 1 1/4inch receiver. Thank you! Tony

The 36.1 lb figure represents the weight of the contents of the box, minus any packaging, which will be the installed weight. The capacity of the rack is indeed 70 lbs, or 2 bikes weighing no more than 35 lb apiece.

From the center of the hitch pin hole to the furthest rearward portion of the rack would be just shy of 20 inches. Since the hitch pin hole sits at about the halfway mark in the width of the rear bumper, that would mean that the rack extends rearward from the bumper right at 18 inches. When the wheel hoops are slid furthest apart, the rack will be 55 inches at its widest.

I don't have any specific information regarding fit for your Lance 1995, but given the dimensions I provided you should be able to determine if the rack will fit.
