Recommended Hitch and Wiring For 2020 Chevy Equinox Diesel
Question:
I have a 2020 chevy equinox diesel and would like to put a hitch on it and wiring to tow my small kayak trailer. What do you recommend? Is there an option for me?

Yes there is an option for the 2020 Chevy Equinox Diesel model. I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76217 which is the only fit available. It has a concealed cross tube so the only part of the hitch that is visible once installed is the receiver. I have attached a photo and video for your reference.
For the wiring, I recommend Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118750 which is confirmed fit for the diesel.
Since you plan on doing some towing you may consider the etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. If you are not sure how much rise/drop you may need in a ball mount to tow your trailer level, I recommend to take a look at the helpful article I have attached about how to figure the amount of rise or drop you may need.
