Will a Cold Air Intake System and an Exhaust System Improve Fuel Economy on a 2001 Dodge Dakota 4.7L

Question:

how will this part affect gas mileage? my stock 2001 Dodge Dakota 4x4 with 63k on it gets horrible mileage, it has the 4.7ohc engine, is there an exhaust system that would work best with this part?

A cold air intake like the Airaid CAD Cold Air Intake System, part # AR303-117, is a benefit to the engine because cold air is more dense and therefore is more readily combustible. It will also optimize airflow allowing the engine to breathe easier.

A performance exhaust like the MagnaFlow Exhaust System, # MF15611, for club cab models with 63 inch bed or # MF15739 for quad cab models with a 63 inch bed, will also optimize airflow by reducing the back pressure.

Both products will allow the engine to operate more efficiently and, if driven conservatively, will lead to an increase in fuel economy. On the other hand, these products are designed to boost engine performance and, if driven aggressively, will lead to a decrease in fuel economy. Because of all of the involved variables, it is not possible to estimate fuel economy gains.
