Will Spare Tire Stay on After Installation of Curt Trailer Hitch on 1969 Chevy C/K Truck

Question:

Curt said in the instruction you remove the spare tire on 14082 hitch for a 1969 Chevy C10, can the spare tire be put back on after hitch install??

The answer really depends on how your spare tire is mounted. Since the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C14082 is designed to fit on frame rails with 34" spacing, if the spare on your 1969 Chevy C/K truck fits directly in between the frame rails without interference then you should be able to. There isn't any way to know for absolute certain due to the age of these trucks, which is why this hitch as well as the Curt # 13028 are inconclusive in regards to whether or not your spare tire can be put back on.

I have added links to the instructions for both hitches, which are the same except 13028 says "Re-install spare tire and removed hardware if possible."
