How do I Set up my Old Pro Series Weight Distribution System on my New Vehicle

Question:

I currently have a pro series wdh most like 600lb rating, would it be cheaper to get a additional head and shank to setup for towing with a different vehicle or buy another wdh system? I want to maintain the current setup as a alternative tow vehicle The current shank has 124184 on it.

Your cheapest alternative would certainly be to use the Pro Series Weight Distribution Shank - 11" - 12,000 lbs part # 63911 and Reese Pro Series RB2 Weight Distribution Head part # 58333 to have a second vehicle kit sort of. THiss will allow you to use your current trunion bars and set up the hitch height for the new towing vehicle. I see you use friction sway control so getting the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit - Economy part # 83660 will give you what you need for that as well. Depending on your coupler size you can use 2-5/16" Hitch Ball - 1-1/4" Diameter x 2-3/4" Long 12,000 lbs part # 63835 or 2" Hitch Ball - 1-1/4" Diameter x 2-5/8" Long Shank - 10,000 part # A-90 to complete the setup.

If you would like to go with a new system I can help you out with that as well. To choose a weight distribution system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. If you can give me an estimated total tongue weight I can make some recommendations for you. I have included some helpful links on determining tongue weight and weight distribution for you.
