Recommended Hitch and Wiring For 2013 Honda CR-V
Question:
Can I take the Reese hitch off my 1999 Toyota 4Runner and put it on my 2013 Honda CRV?

I do have an option for you but we currently do not carry any Reese or Draw-Tite hitches that fit both the 4Runner and Honda CR-V so I am not able to say that your hitch will fit the Honda. Aftermarket hitches are designed to fit the frame of the vehicle to line up with the holes already in the frame.
I recommend to use Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75742 for the 2013 Honda CR-V. This is a custom fit hitch for your Honda and will not require any drilling to install. The Draw-Tite hitch will give you a 2" hitch receiver on the back of the CR-V which is a lot more versatile when it comes to accessories like bike racks. There a lot more bike racks available that fit 2" hitches.
If you plan on doing some towing you need trailer wiring part # 118561 to illuminate the trailer lights. The Tekonsha brand has been known to last a bit longer compared to the other options especially the converter boxes. I have attached a video for your reference.
If you plan on doing some towing you may consider the etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. If you are not sure how much rise/drop you may need in a ball mount to tow your trailer level, I recommend to take a look at the helpful article I have attached about how to figure the amount of rise or drop you may need.
