There a few different trailer hitch options for a 2020 Subaru Forester, each of which will require you to trim the heat shield in order for it to be reinstalled back on the vehicle but don't worry as this won't void your warranty or anything. I recommend the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7391 because it is the only option available that has a hidden design and it requires the least amount of trimming to the heat shield (see photo). The hidden design essentially means you can't see the cross tube when looking at the rear of the vehicle. The hidden design not only provides a sleek, factory-like appearance but you also won't lose as much ground clearance when compared to similar options. I have attached an install photo for you as well as a video.
If you will be towing, you would also want the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118467 which is a direct plug-in-play option with no splicing or modifications required.
