Clicking and Popping Noise Coming from Landing Gear Set On a Keystone Montana 5th Wheel

Question:

Hi, I have a 2005 3475rl Montana fifth wheel. When I go to level the trailer, the front jacks will extend a certain amount, and then quit moving, and make a popping/clicking noise. I tested the landing gear motor, and it seems to be in good working order.I am uncertain if this is caused by a bad gear box, or if the gears inside the actual leg are the problem?

In order to determine if the issue you are having with your landing gear legs clicking and popping is caused by the gear box or leg assembly you will simply need to disconnect the gear box from the legs and then test each manually. If you feel resistance when manually turning the legs then that would indicate either a gear is stripped or the inner tube is bent therefore they would need to be replaced. If you feel resistance when manually turning the gear box then that would indicate a gear is stripped therefore it would need to be replaced. The correct replacement gear box is part # LC276602 and the correct replacement leg is part # LC178653 for lead and part # LC178652 for follow.
