After reading the owners manual for the 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk I did not see anything mentioned about the requirement of using an OEM wiring harness to flat tow. The owner's manual does state you cannot flat tow the Jeep unless it is a 4x4 model and has a 2-speed power transfer unit. That is because the other models cannot be properly shifted into neutral for flat towing. You also want to tow in the forward direction. I do recommend to take a look at your particular owners manual just to be sure there is nothing mentioned in yours.

The harness that you are most likely asking about used to be required so that older versions of the vehicle wouldn't wobble on the highway. That particular harness is no longer needed.

For the wiring, I recommend Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit part # RM-15267 which will give you a nice 6-way plug at the front of the Jeep with a coiled cord to plug into the 7-way on the motor home. This kit looks much cleaner then the other options once installed. I have attached a video for your reference.

I recommend the following other parts to flat tow the 2020 Cherokee Trailhawk:

base plate part # DM9519340
tow bar part # DM9511013
braking system part # SM99251 for hydraulic brakes or part # SM99243 for air brakes

Finally you may need a high low adapter to tow the vehicle level with the motor home. In order to know how much rise or drop it will require to tow level some measuring is required. I have attached a helpful article that helps you figure out which high low adapter may be needed and our selection of high low adapters.
