Options For Lightweight Platform Bike Racks

Im considering a Swagman rack and was trying to find out the weight of a few. But in searching your website I cant seem to find weight information. Can you please tell me the weights of the following: G-10 Chinook Thank you

The Swagman G10 2-Bike Platform Rack (now discontinued) weighs about 47 lbs and can handle 45 lbs per bike. The Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting part # S64683 weighs 47 lbs as well.

If you are looking for a nice lightweight platform rack, I recommend the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Tilting - Black part # SH22B which is 32 lbs and is constructed of aluminum for corrosion resistance. It also tilts away from the vehicle like the Swagman racks and has a weight capacity of 40 lbs per bike.

The next best option for a light weight platform rack is the Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount part # SA4412B which only weighs 22.5 lbs and can handle up to 60 lbs per bike. The only con of the Saris is it doesn't tilt-away however the upright mast does fold down to allow you rear cargo access. I do recommend to add the hitch lock part # SA3022 and cable lock part # e98891 to protect your investment.
