Wiring Needed to Install Trailer Brake Controller in 2018 Subaru Outback
Question:
Im looking at the Tekonsha P3 #90195. I have a 2018 Subaru Outback which is wired near the hitch with a four flat. The camper is about 1400# dry weight. The place Im taking to install it says they're going to put a quick connect plug in at the dash area so we can Velcro it in and remove it easily when not in use. Id like to know what wiring or adapters I should buy now Ill need a 7 pin to four flat adapter for when I use the utility trailer to take with me for installation. I am in Pennsylvania and the camper dealer, and installation shop is in Michigan. So I also dont want to buy wiring etc I dont need and have to pay to ship it back to you. Please advise what I should buy to take with me that I can purchase from you. Thanks

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 is a great choice that is effective and really easy to use so you've done well with that option. In regards to the wiring for your 2018 Subaru Outback, you only need one part since you already have 4-Way Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467.
All you need is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7, which will give you a 7-way connector, circuit breakers and the rest of the hardware needed to install a brake controller. This kit will have all the needed parts required to install a brake controller.
That's literally all you need (along with the brake controller, obviously) and your 2018 Outback will be good to go.
