Troubleshooting Angle Head Bolt of Equal-i-zer System that Won't Thread Past 1/4 Way In

Question:

I purchased a second hand Equalizer System and realized the Angle Set Bolt was not completely screwed in. When i tried to tighten it, it was stuck. Only a quarter of the way in. Im thinking if the bolt was not made for the Equalizer. do i have to buy equalizers bolt or can i pick one up at a local hardware store. thanks

I would recommend checking out the threads of the head of your system as it's very possible they were damaged or stripped. If the wrong size bolt was threaded a quarter of the way into it or the right size bolt won't thread past that point that would indicate an issue with the threads.

Most likely you'll need a new head for the system which will depend on the system you have. The # EQ90-02-1200 would be for if you have the 1,200 lb tongue weight kit part # EQ90-02-1000 for 1,000 lb kit, and # EQ90-02-0600 for 600 lbs.

You'd want to order a new set bolt with it like part # EQ90-03-9700.
