Best Roof Racks for Honda CRV 2015 with Naked Roof

Question:

HI We have a Honda CRV without any side rails. Is it possible to find a rack leg that will somehow fit onto this car via a clamp in the door or something.

Yes we have exactly what you are looking for! I'll give you a couple of options and explain the difference for you. To start I really like the Rhino Rack setups that we have. They offer high quality components and a lot of bang for the buck. The first option is going to be very similar to a factory style crossbar setup. It is part # RRRS409 in silver or # RRRS409B in black. This style of crossbar system offers a very streamlined look. I always think of it being a little more of an in town or vacationers type of roof rack. It offers a 165 lb. weight capacity and the Aero design which drastically reduces wind noise when compared to the older square or round bar systems.

The second is a pass through type of system where the crossbars extend out past the foot packs providing a more rugged or outdoorsy type of look. This is very common on most aftermarket roof rack systems. This type provides more room on the roof rack system for additional accessories since it uses longer crossbars. It does still however maintain a nice and quiet operation because it too uses the Aero type of crossbars. This kit comes as three separate part numbers as compared to the one above which is all in one. For silver you'll need # RRVA137S-2 , # RRRLKVA and # DK284. For black you'll need # RRVA137B-2 , # RRRLKVA and # DK284.

You can't go wrong with either system it just really depends on the look you want and how many accessories you want to add on the roof of your CR-V. I've included some links for you to see not only the products but pictures of the two systems installed and videos of us doing the installations on a 2015 CR-V here at etrailer to give you the exact process you'll go through when installing them.

I do recommend that you check your owners manual for the weight capacity of your roof and not exceed that. In this you'll need to include the weight of the roof rack system as well as whatever it is you plan on carrying.
