Rooftop Cargo Bag for 2001 Toyota RAV4 With Luggage Rack

Question:

Looking for a roof cargo bag for 2001 RAV 4. It has luggage rails on the roof that measure 38” apart side to side and 27” front to back cross rails. Husband doesn’t want a bag that goes over the cross rails. Any ideas?

There is a rooftop cargo bag that will work for your 2001 Toyota RAV4, but none that are going to fit directly between the 27" x 38" space you mentioned; there will need to be a bit of overhang on the rails, unless you don't fill the bag all the way up and you have some space to squeeze it in.

The best option is the Rightline Ace Jr Rooftop Cargo Bag # RL100A50, which is 36" long x 30" wide, so you would need to turn it sideways to get it to fit in the space you have, and there will be 1-1/2" of overhang on either side of the rails (again, unless you don't fill the bag up completely on the edges).

The Rightline Ace Jr. will attach to your RAV4's luggage rack with it's four straps, and I do recommend using the Non-Skid Roof Protection Pad for Rightline Rooftop Cargo Bags # RL100650 to help keep your roof protected and the bag in place.
