Max Tongue Weight For 2016 Compass Latitude
Question:
I have a mobility scooter that weighs 225 lbs and plus aluminum carrier that weighs 60lbs. Total weight combined is approx. 275lbs. Can my compass latitude handle that weight on 2inch hitch? Thanks

Depending on your engine and transmission package per page 439 of the owners manual, the maximum tongue weight is 150-300lbs.
Specifically the 2.4L Auto/Man with Trailer Tow Prep Package (AHC) and 2.4L Auto With Freedom Drive II Off Road Package (AWL) models have a 300lb maximum tongue weight and could narrowly accommodate what you're trying to accomplish here but otherwise the mobility carrier is not going to be an option. We generally see many customers use those carriers on full size trucks, vans, and larger capacity vehicles.
