Installing Trailer Vent # V2092SP-28 on Snowmobile Trailer with 1/8 Inch Thick Roof
Question:
I have a snowmobile trailer with just an aluminum skin on the roof between the joists that is only about an 1/8inch thick. It gets too hot in the trailer during the summer due to the heat trapped inside. I would like to install this roof vent or another roof vent. Can I buy a garnish for this one that will work or is there another roof vent that will work for a roof of this thickness.

The garnish that is included with the V2092SP-28 is 2-1/8 inches thick, which is the shortest one offered.
You can certainly use the vent, but you will have to modify the garnish or use some lumber to make a frame around the hole to take up some of the additional room. Due to the very thin roof, I would suggest making a frame as it would add some stability for the rough opening and provide a strong attachment point for the vent.
