Paddle Board Carrier for 2008 Subaru Impreza with Sportrack Roof Rack Installed

Question:

For Christmas we bought the SportRack SR1010 for our daughter to put on her 2008 4-dr Subaru Impreza. We hope that this summer she can also use this rack to transport her paddleboard. Could you please tell us what else is needed to carry the board safely and securely? We realize she will need paddleboard padsfoot and front and back tie-downs, etc, but is the short roof adapter also necessary, even though her car is 4-door? Thanks much for your help!

The SportRack roof rack part # SR1010 is listed as a fit as-is for the sedan 2008 Subaru Impreza so a short roof adapter would not be needed. All she'd need is a paddleboard carrier compatible with square crossbars like the Thule SUP Shuttle part # TH811XT which comes with straps to secure the paddle boards to the crossbars as well. This is a very secure carrier that has ability to carry a second board if ever needed as well.
