Will the Thule OutWay Platform 2 Bike Carrier Fit on a 2000 Toyota Corolla Sedan

Question:

I have a 2000 corolla 4 door sedan. My car has a 100,000 miles on it at least so its not new at all. I have heard mixed reviews on the heaviness of the rack. Will this fit my car and if so, how badly will it dent my car? Also, does it fit female bikes and child bikes or do i have to by the tube adapter?

For your 2000 Toyota Corolla sedan, Thule recommends the OutWay 2 Bike Rack, # TH45JV. I added a link showing the installation of this rack for you to review.

The OutWay Platform-Style Rack is not recommended for your vehicle because the vehicle is not capable of supporting the weight of two bikes and the carrier. The reviews you see about the rack denting vehicles has been looked into extensively by Thule and the reason for this is that the racks can be installed too tightly on the car causing damage.

You will need a bike frame adapter bar, like part # TH982XT, if your female or child's bikes do not have a horizontal top tube that allows you to safely carry the bikes level enough for ground clearance at the back of the vehicle.
