Solution for Dead Battery on 2019 Jeep Cherokee After Being Flat Towed

Question:

I have this system installed in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk elite. First time towing behind the motorhome the Jeep battery was dead. A shop here then put in a direct line outlet to the motorhome for plugging in the Patriot braking system using the existing 7 pin connector already installed. Coming back here again the battery was dead and needed a jump. I am considering purchasing a Jump-N-Carry battery charger for piece of mind next trip. I read that your cable where a fuse is pulled and this cable is installed with a switch is not compatible with my Jeep. Is that true?

Because the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System # BLU37TR draws power from the Jeep's battery while in use, it is recommended to add a charge line kit like the Roadmaster # RM-156-25 to your setup. The battery actually loses enough power when being flat towed even without this particular braking system that Roadmaster lists the charge kit as a requirement when flat towing this vehicle.

As you mentioned there isn't a FuseMaster available that will let you easily disconnect power from the fuses that are causing this power drain.

The above-mentioned Charge Line Kit will allow up to 15 amps from the RV's battery to be used to maintain the charge on your Jeep's while it's being towed. This should prevent you from arriving at your destination with a dead battery again. I have attached an installation video on your 2019 model Cherokee below that you can also use for reference.
