Question:
your video says no facia trimming required but the print ad says trimming is required? which is true? also does the hitch work with the M Sport trim?

I'll start by saying that with all hitch installations on any of the 2014 BMW X5 models, there is some trimming of the fascia required-it's really unavoidable. If you wait until the end of the video for the Draw-Tite # 75600 at around the 8:30 mark, they explain that the previous owner already had a hitch installed so that the fascia was already trimmed out, but that you would in fact need to do some trimming.
With that being said, I've seen some conflicting reports that the Draw-Tite # 75600 will fit on M Sport models so I would recommend going with the Curt # 13077 which has the same capacity and receiver size as the Draw-Tite hitch, as well as virtually the same installation process. I've attached an installation video for you to have a look at that might help you through the process.
If you need wiring to tow a trailer with your 2014 X5, I recommend using the Tekonsha Zero Contact Interface kit # 119250KIT. This kit allows you to utilize an non-invasive installation since the connections clamp onto the existing wires on your vehicle, which means no cutting wires. I've included the installation video of this kit, as well.
