Recommended 7-Way Connector for Tandem Axle Trailer with Electric Brakes

Question:

I have a 2014 Toyota Tundra and I’m wanting to order a 7- way molded connector with cable for my tandem axle trailer with electric brakes. Can you provide me with the part number for the best cable you have. Thank you for your time.

The 7-Way wiring that I recommend adding to your tandem axle trailer to match up with your 2014 Toyota Tundra is the Epicord 7-Way Molded Trailer Plug with Junction Box # 277-000141. Junction boxes are a great way to keep your trailer wiring organized and easy to access where the wiring connects to the 7-Way connector. The different terminals are labeled inside this junction box so you just need ring terminals like part # 44-5310A to connect your trailer wiring to your pickup.

If you don't already have a brake controller I highly recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR which installs directly to the plug under your driver's side dash with the adapter # 3040-S (if you have the factory 7-Way on your Tundra). This brake controller does have a higher price-point but it is because you are truly getting an elite controller. This is due to the 2 different braking types it offers (time-delayed and proportional) as well as the factory look that it provides with the Mounting Panel # 331-TPSI-002 that fits in place of one of the knockout panels on your Tundra (see attached sent in from customer with 2011 Tundra). This controller can also be easily moved to future vehicles so you will definitely be getting your money's worth out of it.

Attached are some review videos on both products for you to check out.
