Hopkins Trailer Brake Controller and Wiring Harness for a 2006 Toyota Tundra with Tow Package

Question:

Is the installation as simple as plug in and go? Will I have to attach a ground wire somewhere under the dash before use?

Since your 2006 Toyota Tundra came with a factory tow package with a 7-Way at the back, and if using a Hopkins brake controller like # HM47294, then yes, all you do is plug one end in the controller and the other end in the port on the vehicle. There is no additional ground wire in this harness.

The factory harness is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. I have included a video link that will help you determine the location of the factory harness on the vehicle.
