I have a solution for you, but we do not offer a fully electric option hot water heater for RVs. If you have an Atwood, Suburban, American, or Moreflow hot water heater, you can use the Hott Rod RV Water Heater Conversion Kit # DGR6VP (6 gallon heater) or # DGR10VP (10 gallon heater). This kit will safely convert your propane water heater to electrical use while keeping your low pressure propane system in tact. The heater cord requires a 110v outlet, so if your RV electrical system does not have a converter, this would not work for you.

If you have a different hot water heater you would need to replace it with one like the Dometic RV Water Heater - Gas and Electric - Automatic Pilot - 120 Volt - 10,000 Btu - 6 Gal Tank Item # DMC74FR . Because of the specialized nature of dealing with propane gas it is recommended that all repairs and replacements are done by someone certified in the field.

I've linked some brief informational videos about these products for you to have a look at as well.

Can the propane water heater be run on either propane or electric after installing the conversion kit?Description says propane system stays intact... Unclear what that means.

Yes, the conversion kit would allow the water heater to run off of electric OR propane. The propane setup is maintained so you can still have hot water when there isn't an electrical hookup available.
