Cleaning Lippert Slide Out to Prevent Jumping
Question:
My 2014 Snow River travel trailer has a Schentech slide out that is not retracting or protracting evenly. It seems to skip along and finishes with a grunt and a lifting of slide out itself. I am suspicious of a drive gear problem and wondering if the drive gears are available? I am also hoping to find a rain-less couple days to inspect!! It will travel fully but it is making me nervous! I suspect that I will be able to determine the opening/closing ratio when I can see the motor, correct? Thanks for the help and any insights!

Slide out jitters or bouncing like what you mentioned is a fairly common issue and is normally fixed by cleaning and lubing the slide. Lippert actually recommends hydraulic fluid to wipe down and lube the slides and also stated that anything Silicone spray will dry out the seals. Put the hydraulic fluid on a rag and wipe the shafts and runners down with it several times and that should take care of the issue.
If you get underneath the slide out and see damaged gears though let me know what you find and we can look into finding a replacement.
